Pursuit of Wellness is about helping people to find ways to wellbeing that work for them...
This business was born through my desire for work that didn’t feel like work, a job that I was happy to wake up to each day instead of always looking forward to the weekend, I was seeking to create a life for myself that I was excited about. After 15 years in an unintentional career, something I was good at but certainly didn’t give my life meaning, I went in search of the thing(s) that would make me feel alive not just be alive.
In 2013 the first incarnation of Pursuit of Wellness was born, after working in Outdoor Leadership and traveling through South America and Europe, I felt that what people needed was to be outdoors more, to spend more time in nature and to be more active. Pursuit of Wellness started off as an accompanied walking service, encouraging movement and connection with nature.
In 2014 I began teaching Integrative Qigong, after only a very short time of personal practice. Qigong intensely resonated with me, it felt so natural and was as if I had practiced in a previous life. I went on to study mindfulness and to embrace a daily meditation practice which only further nurtured my qigong practice. In 2015 left Melbourne for a three month exploration of Qigong in the USA with Lee Holden and entertained the idea of moving there to work with a friend and fellow Qigong teacher in San Francisco. It was not meant to be though and I happily returned to Melbourne to continue in my own journey and to grow Pursuit of Wellness.
Pursuit of Wellness as a business has evolved organically as I have delved deeper into my own self-care practices and through exploration of my own interests. Sound Meditation was something I had often been drawn to and through a series of kismet opportunities and serendipitous meetings Meditation Soundscapes was born and became part of my offerings. My own musical discovery followed and I have since amassed quite a collection of intriguing instruments that I use in private sessions and as a facilitator at Sound Meditation events.
In 2015 I began studying Complementary Medicine and Pursuit of Wellness began to incorporate Natural Health Consulting and Coaching services. The aim of these services is to help people discover self care, natural health modalities and ways to feel alive - not just be alive. Through my own pursuit of wellness, learning and journey of the past 6 years I’ve come to understand that individualised medicine is the way to wellbeing and my purpose is to help people find the ways to wellbeing that best work for them. I don’t believe that qigong or sound meditation is the way for everyone, but it is the way for some, and through my knowledge and my relationships with practitioners of other modalities I help people discover their way to personal wellbeing.
Pursuit of Wellness offers classes, workshops and programs that teach Integrative Qigong, events that feature Sound Meditation and Mindfulness practices and personal and group Natural Health Consulting and Coaching services.
